Citizens across Serbia took to the streets on Friday (January 24) in support of students who have been blocking their colleges for almost two months. Previously, students in the blockade called on citizens to join that day general strike.
"Don't go to work on Friday." Talk to your colleagues to organize a work stoppage at work. What if I am afraid of the employer? Take a day off. Open sick leave. Donate blood," said the students.
Many cafes, pubs, shops, clubs, as well as theaters, libraries, bookstores, cinemas and other facilities were closed on Friday, in support of the students' demands. While they are some went on strike, others, on the other hand, called for an anti-strike and distributed free coffees, teas, baking, infusions...
