Members of the Police Brigade are on The old Sava bridge arrested the leader of the Move-change movement Sava Manojlović. They knocked him to the ground and handcuffed him. Then they literally carried him off the bridge. The video shows the policemen carrying him, while he wails loudly. After being taken to the police station, Manojlović was transferred to the Emergency Center, Kreni-promeni reported.
Earlier it was reported that after the police brutally took Manojlovic away, by grabbing his arms and legs even though he was not feeling well. That is why the ambulance was called.
As reported by the members of the Start for Change movement, Manojlović does not feel well because of the brutal behavior of police officers towards him.
Let's remind you that after the conflict on the Old Sava Bridge, Manojlović was arrested by the police.
In addition to Manojlović, handcuffs were placed on the city councilor of that movement, Aleksandar Jovanović.
Mićić: The police grabbed Manojlović, force was used without any need
Tanja Mićić, head of the councilors of the Start-change movement in the Belgrade Assembly, stated for "Vreme" that the police used force without any need and arrested Manojlović and Jovanović.
"We came up to the bridge, stood by the cordon and raised our hands." We wanted to cross over to the New Belgrade side on foot. Savo told them what we were planning. The police did not allow it and there was a push. Savo resisted the push, and the situation practically came to pass as if he wanted to break through the cordon, and the bottom line is that the police were the first to start pushing him away and using violent behavior. Then the policemen grabbed him, as well as city councilor Aleksandar Jovanović. I saw that the two of them were on the concrete, and I heard Sava roaring. "The two of them were taken under the bridge, put in a gurney and taken to the police station in New Belgrade," says Mićić.
She added that the lawyer of the Move-change movement is with the arrested, and that it is not yet known what they will be accused of.
Blockade of the Branko bridge at noon
As a reminder, the initiative "The Bridge Remains" announced the blockade of the Branko Bridge at 12:XNUMX on Wednesday due to the removal of rails and asphalt on the Old Bridge.
At the Old Sava Bridge, there are currently representatives of civic initiatives that oppose the demolition of the bridge and members of the Kreni-permeni movement.
Police cordons equipped to break up demonstrations were deployed on both sides of the bridge.
Activists are trying to move cones from the Sava Bridge to Woodrow Wilson Street in order to block traffic towards Belgrade on the water.
