The cordon of the Gendarmerie in full gear was deployed early this morning Old Sava bridge near the former bus station. Concrete barricades were also installed, with which both sides of the bridge were completely closed, reports Nova.rs.
As reported by TV Nova, the removal of rails from the New Belgrade side of the bridge has begun.
The gendarmerie detained Sava Manojlović, a Belgrade councilor from Kreni-promeni, on the bridge and handcuffed him. He resisted and apparently force was used. He sat bound and gagged on the bridge surrounded by gendarmes.
Then they picked him up and took him to the hospital. As they carried him, he could be heard moaning.
In addition to Manojlović, handcuffs were placed on the city councilor of that movement, Aleksandar Jovanović.
Announcement of the blockade of the Branko bridge
Activists gathered around the initiative "The Bridge Remains" are planning a midday blockade of the Branko Bridge.
Citizens who have been on duty on the bridge for days, opposing its demolition, confirmed that the police arrived this morning around 3.40:XNUMX am.
There are also citizens on the bridge who carry "The bridge remains" flags.
One of the citizens who was on duty at the bridge, says that he tried to talk to the police, but was unsuccessful. He confirmed that so far there have been no incidents, although the citizens tried to pass the cordon, but did not succeed in doing so.
People's deputies Miroslav Aleksić and Vladimir Pajić were also at the Old Sava bridge, who then went to Novi Sad, where the court blockade is being held today because of the tragedy at the railway station.
Despite the opposition of a part of Belgrade residents and several years of delay, the Old Sava Bridge in Belgrade was closed to traffic on November 1.
