Parents' advice Thirteenth Belgrade high school he sent an open letter to the Minister of Education of the Government of Serbia Slavica Đukić Dejanović, in which the support for the students and professors of this institution was emphasized and requested that the Ministry of Education and the Government urgently fulfill all the demands of the educators, which would show that education is valued, "and allow the children to continue the second semester without disturbing the teaching process".
As stated, this open letter was signed by the majority of parents of students in 24 classes, out of 27, in just 36 hours.
In the letter of Minister Slavica Đukić Dejanović, it is emphasized that this is "a turning point in our education system".
It is added that by respecting all the demands of educators, Minister Đukić Dejanović can make her contribution to improve the situation and to "show real respect and care" to teachers, that is, to education.
"With this letter, we express our full support for children and teachers and ask that the Ministry and the Government urgently fulfill all the demands of educators, which will show that education is valued, and allow children to continue the second semester without disrupting the teaching process." Furthermore, we demand the responsibility of the Ministry and the Government in making decisions, which means that, first of all, in the decision-making process, they consult the representatives of the educational institutions to which these decisions relate, so that our collapsing education system can be strengthened again. We invite all parents, that is, councils of parents of schools all over Serbia to join us and to publicly and formally advertise, to support their children and educators. Everyone, parents, schools, the Ministry, and the Government should have the same goal - quality education for our children," the open letter concludes.
