Since Sunday evening, the regime media, led by RTS-pm, have been reporting the "bombastic" news, albeit based on "unofficial information", that a group of masked Albanians on Sunday around 15 pm shot at members of the Serbian Army. The attack allegedly took place near the "Debela Glava" base at the foot of the Shop hill in the Land Security Zone in the municipality of Bujanovac. The Ministry of Defense has not announced the incident, although it issues several bizarre announcements every day.
Regime media also "know" that unidentified Albanians fired 15 bullets and that on that occasion "a dog that was in the immediate vicinity of the patrol was hit", and that then an armed group with six jeeps fled in the direction of Kosovo.
How is the line secured?
It is strange that the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces do not issue a statement about that "incident" - If it is true that the attackers came and then fled with six jeeps, the logical question arises: how did they get to the Land Security Zone unnoticed, how did they manage to escape unhindered, what did the Serbian Armed Forces do, where were their patrols, checkpoints, ambushes and who will be held accountable for that omission?
A retired officer with extensive wartime experience tells "Vreme" that the security of a line is carried out by patrols, ambushes, observation posts and posts whose places and times of operation are determined based on a proper assessment of the situation.
"Jeeps usually come by road, and a convoy of six jeeps is something that is impossible not to hear or notice, provided that the roads, whatever they are, are covered by observation. In six jeeps came at least six, and at most thirty people, whose presence in the area of responsibility can hardly go unnoticed, of course, provided that it is done properly. The security of the patrol line is carried out by an organized patrol path, which, as a rule, should exceed the observation zone and the sector of combat operations. Stops are planned on the line for observation and timely spotting of a potential adversary or enemy. Spotting is responded to in the manner prescribed by the report, and attacks are responded to by actions provided for in the combat rules," he explains.
He points out that, if everything is done right, there is no possibility of the "group in six jeeps" going back to where they came from. "I wonder, what is the reason for many years of training soldiers in the KZB when someone at a higher command level does not allow them to be soldiers because of some 'higher goals'?".
What were the drones doing?
Logically, the question arises, what were the unmanned aerial vehicles of the Serbian Army doing, various "sparrows", "mosquitoes" and similar drones that the Army and "Jugoimport SDPR" boast of monitoring the administrative line towards Kosovo? Do they only serve as exhibits at weapon shows?
But most worrying of all is the silence of the Ministry of Defence, provided that what has been published is true. We should also remember the situation when a Kosovar drone was allegedly shot down on Kopaonik - everyone was talking about it for days, but the rest of that "shot down" drone was never shown to the public.
If it is now another poorly directed performance for the public, it is less important whether it is organized by the VBA or the BIA.
