Car accident In 2013, in which Andrea Bojanić was killed, when Aleksandar Mitrović ran into her at great speed, it happened exactly 12 years ago in Ustanička Street.
Today (July 18), the assembly of citizens of Konjarnik wanted to hold a memorial service blockade Ustanička Street, at the scene of the accident, but it was canceled at the request of Andrea's mother.
Namely, as Zbor Konjarnik announced on the Instagram social network, although they received permission from Andrea's father to hold the memorial blockade, her mother did not give consent.
"We inform you that the mother contacted us and informed us that she does not agree at all with the celebration of today's day and the use of the girl's name. Although we received consent from the father, we apparently received the mother's consent from unverified sources. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience we have caused to the family. It was by no means our intention," reads the statement of the Konjarnik Choir.

Event from 2013
Andrea Bojanić was returning home at the time, and while she was crossing the street, 19-year-old Aleksandar Mitrović ran into her with his jeep.
The accident happened in Ustanička Street, not far from Andrea's apartment.
The prosecution described in the indictment that Mitrović was driving a jeep, otherwise owned by "Pink", at a speed of more than 80 kilometers per hour. Mitrović's son did not stop, but continued his movement. Therefore, the police who came to the scene of the accident could not test him for alcohol or drugs.
Defense lawyers claimed that Mitrović fled the scene of the accident because he was in shock, and that he surrendered to the police a few hours later. Then he came to the police station with his father, Željko Mitrović.
Judicial proceeding
A court case ensued that lasted for years. There were disputes about how fast Mitrović was driving, in what way Andrea Bojanić crossed the street, whether she overran and whether the light on the traffic light was red.
Despite the fact that he fled the scene without stopping for a moment, and the fact that he was initially charged with failure to render aid after a traffic accident, that offense is statute-barred.
Aleksandar Mitrović was given a first-instance verdict. With that verdict, he was sentenced to 11 months of house arrest and banned from driving for one year. As a reminder, the criminal offense that Mitrović was charged with was punishable by one to eight years in prison.
However, the sentence was twice as mild. An appeal procedure followed, so the Court of Appeal increased the sentence from 11 months to one year, and the driving ban to two years.
