On December 17, extraordinary parliamentary and Belgrade elections will be held in Serbia in over 60 cities and municipalities. The deadline for calling provincial elections is November 16, when the Assembly of Vojvodina is expected to be dissolved.
The request for entry in the single voter's list of the information that the voter will vote abroad must necessarily contain the name, surname and first name of one parent, unique identity number, municipality, i.e. city and address of the voter's residence in the country, as well as information about the municipality, i.e. city and address of residence abroad.
The diplomatic and consular representation of Serbia to which a request has been submitted for entry into the unified voter list stating that the voter wants to vote according to the place of residence abroad, in the prescribed manner, delivers it to the competent municipal or city administration at the voter's place of residence in the country, which brings a solution. After passing a decision on the determination of polling stations by the competent electoral commission for voting in elections, the competent municipal, i.e. city administration issues a decision on entering the data that the voter will vote in the elections according to the place of residence abroad and the polling station where he will vote, or a decision that they are not the conditions for the voter to vote according to the place of residence abroad are met.
After the adoption of the decision that the voter will vote in the upcoming elections according to the place of residence abroad and the entry of that information in the unified voter list, the voter is not entered in the extract from the unified voter list by place of residence in the country, that is, he is entered in the extract from the unified voter list according to place of residence abroad.
It is indicated that the information that a voter will vote abroad can be entered in the unified voter list only for a person who is already entered in the unified voter list. In the event that a person who has the right to vote is not entered in the unified voter's list for deciding upon the request to enter the information that the voter will vote abroad, it is necessary to first carry out the procedure of registration in the unified voter's list.
The request for registration in the unified voter list, together with the request for registration of the information that the voter will vote abroad, is submitted to the diplomatic and consular representation of Serbia, which submits both requests to the competent municipal or city administration according to the applicant's last place of residence before going abroad, i.e. the last residence of one of his parents.
Insight into unified electoral register can be done electronically, by entering data on the unique identity number of citizens and the registration number of the identity card, i.e. passport, on the official website of the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government.
Voters residing abroad are informed that they can submit to the municipal or city administration of their place of residence in the country, through the diplomatic and consular representation of Serbia, a request for notification of the data entered on them in the single voter register.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites citizens of Serbia who wish to exercise their right to vote abroad to contact the nearest diplomatic and consular representation of the country.
