Slovak President Peter Pellegrini is on a two-day visit to Serbia.
After the meeting, the presidents of Serbia and Slovakia, Aleksandar Vučić and Peter Pellegrini, addressed the media.
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said today that Slovakia is ready to build a nuclear power plant in Serbia, while Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić pointed out that Serbia does not have enough educated people for the application of nuclear energy, and without that type of energy there will not be enough electricity in the future.
"Everything that Slovakia has in the field of nuclear energy, from know-how and machines, is available to Serbia," Pellegrini said at a joint press conference.
"Its advantage is that it is a cheap source of electricity, regardless of whether the wind blows or the sun shines. It is produced 24 hours a day," explained Pellegrini, adding that his country has teams engaged in the construction of nuclear power plants, as well as machines that deal with waste.

"Slovakia gets the cheapest and cleanest electricity from a nuclear power plant," said Vučić and added that "if it started today" it would take Serbia 10 years to build such a power plant.
According to him, electricity from nuclear power plants costs 35-40 euros per megawatt, while Serbia today pays 110, 120 and 130 euros per megawatt.
According to him, Serbia must think 10 years ahead, because it needs that much time to build a nuclear power plant.
Vučić added that he also spoke with Pellegrini about the position of Slovaks in Serbia, and that tomorrow together they will go to Bački Petrovac, a place where the majority of the population is Slovak, in order to talk to the citizens.
