For weeks now, passengers, as well as those who see them off or welcome them, have been faced with daily delays of numerous flights at "Nikola Tesla" airport. In the whole situation where it is not known exactly when a flight will take off or land, new parking prices have also arrived.
"I accompanied my daughter on the flight. I paid 400 dinars for an hour of parking, and just a few weeks ago it cost 300. Luckily, I didn't have to stay long at the airport. A man who was paying for parking before me, when he saw the number, he started kicking the machine out of anger", a fellow citizen told us.
And while those who brought someone on a flight do not have to stay at the airport yet, those who came to wait for someone have no choice.
"The flight on which my daughters came from London was three hours late, and the first information was that they would arrive on time, so I arrived at the airport at that time. And what should I do in that situation? I have no choice, but I paid a penny for parking", Andrej tells us about his experience.
In all of this, as told by the Belgraders who were at the airport these days, the communal militia constantly controls and fines those who park outside the prescribed places.
As can be seen on the airport's website, the new prices are valid from July 25 and, depending on which parking lot is used, start at 200 dinars for half an hour and upwards.
Thus, in the "Kiss & Fly" zone, which is intended for short-term detention for disembarking passengers, detention for up to five minutes is not charged, and after that each minute is 100 dinars.
Parking P1, which is the closest to the terminal, costs RSD 400 per hour.
Parking P2, which is close to the pier building, costs RSD 30 for up to 200 minutes, and RSD 60 for up to 300 minutes. Each subsequent hour after the first 60 minutes costs RSD 300.
The price of parking in the garage, which is 150 meters from the airport building, costs 30 for up to 200 minutes, and 60 for up to 300 minutes.
An individual parking space costs RSD 60 every hour after the first 300 minutes.
The price at the parking lot, which is 300 meters from the airport building and is located opposite the Goods and Customs Warehouse, is 200 dinars per hour, after which a one-time daily parking fee of 1.500 dinars is payable.
Not far from the airport cargo terminal on the road to Surčin, there is a "Tesla" parking lot where the first three hours are free, and a daily parking ticket costs 300.
"Vremena" portal was not able to get an explanation from the "Nikola Tesla" airport as to why the parking prices were increased.
"Nikola Tesla" Airport has been managed by the French company "VINCI Airports" since 2019.
