After the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade warned on Thursday that those who disobey the ban of the Ministry of the Interior and participate in the Europride walk will have to pay pepper fines, the Belgrade Center for Human Rights shared guidelines for Saturday's walk.
If the police detain you during the Pride Parade, as an arrested person you have the right to be informed of all the reasons for the arrest and to inform the person of your choice or the lawyer of your choice.
The Belgrade Center for Human Rights says that an arrested person has the right to a "confidential conversation" with a lawyer before giving any statement to the police and the prosecutor's office, and that the lawyer should be present at every statement. The detained person has the right to request a medical examination, by a doctor of his choice, as well as to keep the medical examination at the police confidential.
In the case of inflicted physical injuries, it is recommended that the arrested person requests the doctor to write down the claims exactly: who, when and how inflicted the injuries on a person. It is added that all observed injuries should be accurately described and photographed and a copy of the medical report must be kept, so the lawyer should attend the medical examination.
This organization will provide free legal support to victims of police brutality.
The organization "Da se zna" announced on Friday that it will provide free legal support in cases of "hate crimes and discrimination motivated by hatred against the LGBTIQ+ community."
After the ban on the Parade and the rejection of the appeal, the Europride organizers pointed out that they submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Interior for a new and modified route of the walk, which will start on Saturday at 17 pm in front of the Constitutional Court building in Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard.
