Parents' advice 13th Belgrade High School unanimously decided to provide unreserved support to the teachers of that gymnasium in the suspension of all teaching activities, and until the end of the "special situation", that is, until the conditions are fulfilled and a safe environment is created for the continuation of the educational process.
In its decision, the Council of Parents of the 13th Belgrade Gymnasium recalled that the first semester ended prematurely, on December 23, 2024, due to the conclusion of the Government of Serbia, due to the preservation of the health, safety and well-being of all participants in the educational process - and due to the serious threat to the safety of students.
"We believe that the conditions for the safe conduct of classes have not yet been achieved. As far as we know, the new Government Conclusion on the change in the security situation has not been adopted", stated the Council of Parents of the 13th Belgrade High School.
It was pointed out that the Council believes that with the occurrence of a "special state" of the social community, the security risks have increased.
"We believe that - with mass gatherings of citizens, attacks by a part of citizens on students and others gathered at the time of giving the fifteen-minute mail to the victims, verbal and physical attacks, attempted murders of female students of SP and KV, which caused an even greater rebellion of students and citizens of Serbia, and especially due to the direct threat to the safety of students and employees of our school on several occasions - the security risks have increased," it is stated in the decision of the Council of Parents of the 13th Belgrade Gymnasium.
A man with a drawn knife and a gang in hoods
It was also stated that on December 13, 2024, during the shift, "a visibly distracted man with a drawn knife was walking through the school yard full of students" and that the police reacted quickly, but that "only a misdemeanor charge" was filed against that man.
The Parents' Council of the 13th Belgrade High School also stated that on the night between January 20 and 21 of this year, the school yard was "spotted with hundreds of primitive and disgusting signs that offended and scared all the students, their parents and employees" and that the cameras showed that it was a "gang in hoods that roamed the yard around midnight."
The council added that on January 24, around 15:XNUMX p.m., an "unknown person with a very strange behavior" entered the school hall and caused concern among those present.
"Due to all these events, we express fear for the safety of students when arriving, staying, and leaving school, with a justified fear that students may again encounter some of the incidents listed above that happen every day and in every place," the Council's decision stated.
