On Saturday, March 15, a big event is being organized in Belgrade protest, and according to farmers from the Initiative for Survival of agriculture, farmers across the country are being recruited to block the approaches to the capital that day.
"The news appeared on social networks that Andrej (Vučić) hired all possible transporters and is looking for tractors in Serbia to be sent to Belgrade. This morning I heard that they are gathering in Maradik, Titel and at our place in Nova Crnja, and I went to film at our place in Nova Crnja," Milan Bogunović, a farmer from Banatski Karađorđevo, told Vreme.
He says that he passed by them, they did not talk, because, as he says, he has nothing to talk about with them.
"I don't know if these will be like students 2.0, peasants 2.0, peasants who support the regime or something like that," says Bogunović.
As he adds, photos of tractors loaded on tow trucks in Altina also appeared on social networks.
As 021 writes, according to the information they receive from all over Serbia, farmers from the Initiative for the Survival of Agriculture state that "currently, the recruitment and payment of farmers loyal to the ruling party is being organized to provide tractors and drivers who would come with tractors to the approaches to Belgrade".
Another option, they say, is organized towing services under the pretext of protecting "students who want to learn" in Pionirski Park.
A new attempt to enter Belgrade
Farmers from the Initiative for the Survival of Agriculture plan to enter Belgrade on March 15, "for the umpteenth time," Bogunović told Vreme.
"We have been trying to enter since 2011. Every time we would be stopped by the police in Chantra and the villagers would block the traffic. The police block us every time", says Bogunović.
Farmers from Zemun tried to come to the center of Belgrade on Saturday, March 8, but the police stopped them at the roundabout in New Belgrade.
