The dismissal of Chief Slobodan Milenkovic and Chief of Operations of the Anti-Drug Department of the Belgrade Police, Dušan Mitić, who discovered the "Jovanjic" case and arrested Predrag Koluvija, accused of producing "skank" and marijuana before the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime, represents the prevention of the continuation of the investigation and the initiation of the case "Jovanjica 3", says for "Today" Jelena Zorić, journalist of "Vremena" and "Birna".
"This was the expected reaction that they would try to prevent the investigation." In June, Chief Milenkovic sent a request to the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime to continue work on "Jovanjica", the so-called "Jovanjica 3" and to reveal the financiers of "Jovanjica", as well as the method of drug distribution, since the indictment states that the estate cultivated drugs, as well as to verify the operational knowledge, to obtain the form of information", says Zorić.
He also explains that "the party staff, the criminalized staff perceives the inspectors who are doing their job as resistance and prevents further investigation." All of this includes punishing Mitić for testifying, but also putting pressure on Milenkovic, who should testify soon. Some other inspectors were also replaced in the meantime, which is an announcement that the entire Fourth Department of the Belgrade Criminal Police Administration, which very honorably fights against drugs, will be disbanded."
He reminds that the name of Bratislava Gašić, the Minister of Police, was mentioned several times in the "Jovanica" case.
"Let's not forget the two statements of Dušan Mitić, who during his testimony in the "Jovanjica" case recently said that the Minister of Police, former director of the Security and Information Agency, Bratislav Gašić, for whom there is evidence that he was in communication with the first defendant in the "Jovanjica" case Predrag Koluvija, vitally interested in the removal of the head Slobodan Milenkovic."
He says that "Mitić's second statement now becomes even more important in the light of current events, and it concerns the information that lawyer Zora Dobričanin, according to Mitić's findings, which he presented before the court panel, transmitted messages sent to Milenkovic in recent weeks to accept the position of coordinator that will be offered to him by the ministry, that he should not make a noise about it and that it should be "most important for him to keep his head on his shoulders" and not to get some court process, i.e. some arrest"
She emphasizes that the inspectors, without any explanation, are followed by the BIA, they are threatened with arrests, and there is information about the preparation of their liquidations.
"Despite four years of pressure, danger to his life and that of his family, surveillance by the BIA, criminalization of his personality, threats of arrest, he did not stop doing his job." I think this is a warning to him that it could be worse. Now it has been demonstrated that they can remove him before the testimony, imagine what can happen after the testimony. They can arrest him or liquidate him, what information already existed, that is, that their liquidation was paid for and ordered," warns Zorić.
