As a protest against disputed laws on referendum and expropriation, environmental organizations called today, on a cool but sunny day on December 4 from 14 to 16 p.m. blockade of roads in about fifty places throughout Serbia.
The Ecological Uprising organization announced that traffic will be stopped in Belgrade at 8 locations: the highway near the Sava Center, the highway near Bubanj potok and the Nikola Tesla airport, Brankov bridge, Pančevački bridge, Pupin bridge, Autokomanda, Slavija, Obrenovački road near Makiški polje, Municipality New Belgrade and the Ibarska highway near Umka and Barič.
Ecological uprising called on all "citizens, organizations, students and public figures" to join the protest. He called on the citizens to block the roads with their vehicles and gave instructions: "For those who decide to block the road - drive very slowly (5 km/h) from 14 pm on the stretch from Bubanj Potok - to the Airport - until you come to a complete stop!" Also, there will be slow driving on roundabouts - Slavija, Autokomanda, Municipality of Novi Belgrade, as well as on Belgrade bridges".
More people participate in the blockade environmental organizations, but the opposition parties also invited their supporters to join.
It has been shown that environmental issues can bring many more people to the streets than the fight for democracy, human rights, freedom and against the abuse of the media and the authorities or the numerous affairs of the representatives of the authorities.
