Time for a solution for Oil industry of Serbia leaking. Although it has been known since January that American sanctions are coming, Serbia, it seems, met them unprepared and without any solution to the crisis.
The authorities in Serbia, led by Aleksandar Vučić, are guided by the logic of "as the Russians say" in this issue, and the Russians do not advertise much, at least based on the claims that the government representatives serve to the citizens.
He is at a press conference on Tuesday morning Vučić said that he gave the Russians another 50 days to find a buyer, and if they don't find him, Serbia will NIS nationalize.
That same evening, Ana Brnabic, the president of the National Assembly, announced amendments for the nationalization of NIS.
She told Euronews that she would not support the nationalization of NIS, but added that after talks between the President of Serbia and various parties regarding the position of this company, an amendment will be proposed that will foresee the circumstances in which Serbia would have to take over NIS.
The Speaker of the Parliament announced that on November 26, the authorities will submit an amendment to the Proposal budget law for the year 2026, which opens the possibility for Serbia to take ownership of the Oil Industry of Serbia.
"Tomorrow we will finish the discussion on the list. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow we will go over the amendments and you will see that, after the talks that (President Aleksandar) Vučić had with various parties, one of the amendments that will be submitted will be the one that will foresee the circumstance that we will take over the NIS at some point," said Brnabić.
