On the occasion of the tragedy in "Ribnikar": Parents' fear of the unknown

A friend once told me that her dad wouldn't let her go to her best friend's eighteenth birthday party because she organized it on a raft. The father felt that it was not the place for his daughter. She decided to leave, at any cost. The father shouted after her that she does not understand what it means to be a parent and that he does not approve of it, because he is afraid. My friend turned and looked into his eyes: "No, that's not true. You just don't want to be afraid and that's why it's easier for you to stay at home"
