The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) announced that on Wednesday, at 22.19:5.0 p.m., northern Italy was hit by an earthquake of magnitude XNUMX on the Richter scale, and according to initial reports, the earthquake did not cause major damage.
According to the EMSC, the epicenter of the earthquake was 13 kilometers from the town of Tolmez, and it was also felt in neighboring countries, including Slovenia and part of Croatia.
According to the first data, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
It was felt by more than 24 million people in Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Austria, with tremors affecting an area of over 200 kilometers, EMSC reported.
The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) announced, on the other hand, that the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.5 on the Richter scale.
The shaking lasted for several seconds, and La Repubblica points out that firefighters have received dozens of calls, but that there are still no reports of damage.
