Rumunija raised the fighting aircraft because of the new Russia's attack on Ukraine.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense announced that Russian forces launched a powerful drone attack overnight targeting civilian infrastructure in the Ismail region of Ukraine, which is located near the Romanian border.
Because of this, two F-16 aircraft were raised and a warning was issued to the Romanian population.
Radar systems detected targets in the Ukrainian airspace near the Tulcea district in Romania at 1.10:XNUMX a.m. local time, which is why a warning was issued to the residents of the northern part of the district, according to a statement from the Romanian Ministry, reports Agerpres.
"Two Romanian F-16 fighter jets were raised to monitor the national airspace, with no unauthorized incursions detected," the statement said.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense strongly condemned these "aggressive and unjustified" actions by the Russian Federation, which, as stated, "flagrantly defy" international law and threaten regional security.
