Tonight, October 1st, Drama National Theatre will start the new season on the "Raša Plaović" stage with the play "Little things that mean life" directed by Andrej Nosov. As "Vreme" unofficially learns, before the start of the performance, the ensemble will tell the audience what they think about Rulebook on work discipline which prohibits employees from publicly expressing political views.
Given that the Rulebook goes into effect on Friday, the actors of this play should not be fired for their words tonight. They are: Mladen Andrejević, Nela Mihailović, Vanja Ejdus, Dušan Matejić, Nina Nešković and Rade Ćosić.

Their announcement tonight is a prelude to the warning strike that will take place on Friday.
One-hour warning strike
As we unofficially learn, on Friday, October 3, the day the Rulebook on Labor Discipline comes into force, members of the actors' union "Singlus" of the National Theater will organize a one-hour warning strike.
They demand that the Rulebook on Labor Discipline be revised, as well as other demands from labor law.
As they carried out the strikes in March, they will come one hour before the show to the hall of the theater to talk to the audience about their demands and events in society.
If the management of the National Theater does not fulfill their demands, they will continue to fight for their rights through other legal means.
Disciplining employees in the theater
As a reminder, in Article 3 point 7 of the aforementioned Rulebook on Labor Discipline, it is written that an employee does not respect labor discipline if "while performing the work of the Theater, publicly, verbally, with symbols and gestures, he expresses his political or other commitment that is not related to the performance of the Theater's work, then publicly communicates political or other content, then calls for activities that have a political character or are not related to the performance of the Theater's work, or points out symbols or features the highlighting of which is prohibited by law."
Article 6 of the same Rulebook provides for dismissal for non-compliance with the prescribed rules.
We will repeat, the Rulebook comes into force on Friday and the strikers risk being fired.
Employees, as well as the public, believe that the Rulebook is not in accordance with the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of expression, and they link it to Dragoslav Bokan, the new president of the Board of Directors of the National Theatre.
