MOL has announced that it has received approval from the United States of America to continue negotiations on the purchase of a majority stake in NIS-until May 22nd.
The Office for the Control of Foreign Assets of the US Ministry of Finance accepted MOL's request and extended the deadline for negotiations on the purchase of majority ownership in NIS until May 22, 2026.
This license extension allows the parties to finalize the purchase agreement and supporting documentation, in accordance with the basic terms of the agreement signed in January of this year.
Upon conclusion of the deal, MOL will have the opportunity to take over 56,15 percent of Gazprom's share in NIS. As stated in the MOL announcement, the realization of this acquisition still depends on several conditions, including the final approvals of OFAK and the Government of Serbia.
On Friday, OFAK also issued a new operating license to the Serbian Oil Industry until April 17. Also, Croatian JANAF's license for oil transfer to NIS was extended until the same date.
