As the school director Biljana Popović informed the parents, school is on Monday morning Police sent to Stari Grad station "Emergency for urgent security measures around the school".
"Due to last night's riots and the announced protests in the afternoon, we sent an emergency this morning for emergency security measures in and around the PS Stari grad school. I inform you that the afternoon shift will attend classes online today. A request for approval of a temporary transition to online classes has also been sent to the school administration," the notice states, as quoted by N1.
The statement adds that the school, which is located near the protest, is "monitoring the development of the situation" and that "in order to ensure the safety of students and employees, it will make timely and adequate decisions on actions", as well as that parents will be informed about all further measures.
In the night between Sunday and Monday, riots took place on the plateau near the National Assembly and in Kneza Miloša Street.
Tensions started after dozens of people appeared in the so-called Ćaciland, challenging and shooting people gathered around Dijana Hrka, the mother of one of those who died in the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad, who is on hunger strike in the immediate vicinity of the Assembly.
