The sculpture of scales with two cups - "Terazije" was placed during the night at the roundabout on Terazije in Belgrade, at the turn for Prizrenska and Balkanska streets, as a new symbol of the city and a "surprise" announced by the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Šapić.
As announced by the Secretariat for Public Transport, during the night there were changes to some city lines in the center of Belgrade. Terazije was closed from midnight until 4 in the morning, in the area from Kolarceva Street to Nikola Pašić Square.
The works are still in progress, City Greenery workers are pouring soil into the plinth under the monument, but traffic is moving, N1 television reported.
It is not yet known how much that sculpture cost, but the clock that was placed on the roundabout on Republic Square, just a hundred meters from Terazi, cost 10 million dinars, and its mechanism cost five million dinars, and currently one of the four clocks is not working.
