Many parents of eighth-grade students at the "Ćirilo i Metodije" Elementary School in Belgrade decided not to send their children to class because of a former student who threatened them with a knife. As "Blic" reported, the parents claim that the student is known for his problematic behavior, and that as early as December of last year, it was reported that the then seven-year-old brought a knife to school and threatened other children.
The school minimizes the problem.
The school initially denied that it had this kind of problem, but after some time the boy was still suspended from classes. This year, the violence culminated - the parents told "Blic".
They say that he comes to the big vacation without any problems, enters the schoolyard without any problems and waits for the children there, just like after school on the way home, asks for money and threatens. They claim to have saved voicemails to prove it and are waiting for someone to act.
Parents testify that the school tries to minimize the violence, they consider it to be boys' pranks. They also claim that he brings a team of older boys with phantom girls to the school, as well as that anyone can enter the schoolyard without control because there is no policeman.
In the school, they believe that all the necessary measures have been taken, and in the ministry - that all competent authorities are involved.
Everything is according to the regulations.
mo without panic "The school always invests enormous energy in solving problems, addresses the institutions that need to be addressed, includes an external protection network and always calls on parents for cooperation and trust, including in this case. Cooperation is not always possible, because some parents talk about cooperation and trust, but they make decisions independently. Be assured that the school has undertaken and continues to undertake everything necessary within its jurisdiction to protect every child - stated "Blica" Ljubomir Vukmirović, director Elementary School "Cirilo and Methodius".
The Ministry of Education confirmed this:
"The school is acting in accordance with the prescribed procedure in the area of protection against violence, and the Ministry of Education is monitoring the school's actions. Considering the sensitivity of the situation, all competent institutions are involved, including the Center for Social Work and the police, all with the aim of resolving the situation in the best interest and preserving the safety of all students," announced the Ministry of Education.
The parents say that currently twenty students are not going to school, and that the class teacher advised them not to come because she cannot guarantee their safety.
