The house is located in the neighborhood around Jakov Galus street in Jajinac, from the main Avala road - to the right, after the turn for the Strelište Memorial Park. At the same intersection for the prime minister's house, a narrow dead-end street from the main road leads to the left, into the heart of the forest where the monument is located. Right there, not far from that intersection, an arsenal was found - a gun, four bombs, some ammunition of different calibers. In the store on Jakova Galus Street, the saleswoman, frowning painfully, refused to talk about the current topic of the found weapon and the possible assassination: "I'm really not interested in those things."
It's autumn, so the oak and beech leaves largely covered the tracks of numerous police forces who, during the last weekend of October, were investigating for the found weapons. It is impossible to notice exactly where everything took place.
Like every forest near Serbian cities, in this one you can see a lot of garbage from the road. It seems that there could be much more under the leaves than what has already been found, and newspaper archives confirm this. Seven years ago, during a family outing in the forest near the Memorial Park in Jajinci, the children of the attaché of the Libyan embassy found a hand-made weapon, so, thinking he was holding a toy, the boy wounded his sister in the stomach.
A hundred meters from the intersection, on both sides of the narrow street, no more than a dozen families live. Dogs and cats are calm, they do not react to the "Vremena" team. Smoke billows from the chimney, in the garden of one yard there are unpicked kale and cabbage. An elderly lady with bags from the store smiles kindly: "I live here, and believe me, I haven't noticed anything."
A little further ahead, along a slight rise, stands a modified armored vehicle. It is painted black, and on the front and on the side, a skeleton head is drawn in white, surrounded by the inscriptions "Peace for Freedom" and "Head for Kosmet". In between are two signs that look like German crosses. Judging by the mud in the tire patterns, it seems to be in roadworthy condition. "We got that threshold from Kosutnjak, they were filming a movie..." explains a man in work overalls who was working with a hammer in the yard of the former administration building of FC Napretka.
"You saw for yourself that now there are several scenarios where the gun came from and where the bombs came from...", he begins to talk about the current theories about the weapons found in his neighborhood. "I just don't understand why they don't reveal who reported it." Well, that weapon cannot just be brought. When we drove to the threshold, it was obvious..."
He does not seem to be convinced of the most popular version that weapons are prepared to attack the prime minister: "Watch out, when he comes, a military car with an escort in it stops right there, to block this narrow street, until the car with him turns right." There is no point in doing anything from that place. And that 7,62 caliber ammunition! So what would that do them?!"
After that, the interlocutor brought the "Vremena" team inside to show replicas of hecklers and a sniper who is usually hired there for airsoft, a sport that simulates armed combat using faithful replicas of weapons filled with plastic bullets. Airsoft is something like paintball-a, but a little more realistic, one might say. The place where the man in the overalls works is called Familja, and on the door of the building it says: "FAMILY sports association, educational creative center". Below are crossed out red cigarettes, pills, syringes, a marijuana leaf, dogs, cats, a five-pointed star, the EU, the American flag and people of the same sex holding hands. Above all, the silhouette of a woman, a man and three small children. Behind is the playground of the Dušan silni football club.
By the way, Jajinci is a local community of Voždovac municipality in the southern part of Belgrade. After Banjica, it can be reached by the JNA Boulevard, i.e. the asphalt that is called the Oslobođenja Boulevard from Slavija Square. On the eastern edge of Jajinac is a forest with a memorial park and the Strelište monument. At that place, there used to be a military training ground of the army of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and during the Second World War, the German Nazis shot 80.000 fighters against the occupiers there. About 7500 inhabitants live in Jajinci today. In March, work began on the final construction of the sewage system for this suburban place... Children from Banjica still tease their peers from the neighborhood with: "Hey, peasant from Jajinac!"
