For days, three white vans without license plates were parked right next to the Presidency building, a highly protected facility. After writing "Time" about them and the statements of eyewitnesses, the van was no longer there on Friday (March 21).
Investigating an event from Saturday, March 15, when the vans were parked on the very street, we came to a series of observations by people who were at the protest testifying that the vans were parked there even during the strange "hooting".
"Vremena" sources said that neither the military policemen at Kobra, nor the MUP, normally do not remove their registration even when they go on secret missions.
However, only a few days before the protest, an amendment to the Regulation on special and special police units came into force, according to which the intervention police get wider powers, they can use civilian passenger cars as well as off-road vehicles - without police markings.
Eyewitnesses of the waves
Three white vans were there, in the crowd, and during the ominous wave, which the state has not yet confirmed, which hit Ulica Kralja Milana at the famous 19:11 on Saturday March 15 during the silence.
They were also noticed by the citizens who reported to the editorial office of "Vremena" and sent their own testimonies about the roar that rumbled through this street and passed by these white vans.
Even then, they were without plates, although on one of them in the photos it can be seen that someone had affixed - pump
"The vans were here, parked on the sidewalk, one after the other. There was little room for pedestrians to pass behind them, and then the police cordon that blocked the passage between these two buildings towards Andrićev venc," reads a statement for "Vreme" provided by one of the protest's eyewitnesses. "They acted as a physical barrier to assist the police."
People who contacted the newsroom to write about the strange symptoms they felt on Saturday evening also say that they noticed the faded remnants of some inscriptions on the vans.
Three white Peugeot vans were photographed by the editorial staff of "Vremena" every following day, and after the publication of the text, the vans are no longer there.
