During the twelve and a half years of the rule of the Serbian Progressive Party, only one single day will be recorded in history when the current president of the country addressed the public without going beyond the constitutional and legal powers. It was November 1 of this year, a canopy collapsed at the Railway Station in Novi Sad, killing fourteen people on the spot. Seventeen days later that number rose to 15 dead. But, in the evening of November 1, Vučić held a press conference and was brief. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and promised to establish criminal and political responsibility.
Why didn't he go beyond his powers? Because this time the blame really lies in the hands of his regime, which renovated, assembled, disassembled and ceremonially opened the station several times. It is paradoxical, but plausible: when progressives behave normally, they are guilty.
ETERNAL FRAGRANCE
In Vučić's Serbia, every day in which we return home alive is a blessing, every day in which nothing fell on our heads, we did not inhale anything poisonous, the children returned from school alive and well... Because that was not always the case, and he is somehow always there to explain to us what to think, to show us how we should trust him more than our eyes. Because he is the all-seeing, omnipotent, omniscient president.
We have not forgotten: when two-year-old Danka Ilić disappeared, and her fate became known, he told us what happened to the child. When the mass murder happened in the "Vladislav Ribnikar" Experimental Elementary School, Vučić was the one who spent hours in the all-night program, and on a plate gave us all the details about the family of the thirteen-year-old perpetrator, information from the boy's health record, details about his parents, and so on. even to a minor sister. He didn't run away from the canopy for the first few days. However, on November 4, he was a guest on the show "Ćirilica" on Happy Television and there he "divorced"...
Due to the opposition's demand that Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vucevic resign due to the collapse of the canopy, the President of Serbia proposed a referendum on his dismissal.
"I offer you a solution, I offer you a great victory. So that you wouldn't tell me what kind of majority in the Assembly is needed for everything, we will give you 126 votes for a majority. We will go out to ask the people, that the National Assembly ask the people for an advisory opinion on the referendum on the dismissal of Aleksandar Vučić. I have now checked with Dejan Đurđević whether they agree with the procedure for dismissing me. If 50 percent of the people say they agree, I won't be president for another day. I publicly vow that I will no longer be president and we are going to new presidential elections", he stated. He added that the elections can be held in January, March or May. "Choose when you want," he said.
We have already written in this place: whatever happens, he must change the subject and talk about himself, because he cannot bear that it is not about him. Even when the topic is a double-digit death toll, he has to talk about himself.
Being omnipotent and omniscient, he said he looked at the entire documentation. He is a lawyer who understands construction documents, and he arrived over the weekend to study thousands of pages (he stated that many himself) and saw that it would be very difficult for the prosecutor's office and the courts - and especially for the experts - to establish whether, if it had not been load with added glass, it stood for another year, two or three, pointing out that those iron cables were worn out."
I don't know who exactly is to blame. Each passes on the other. This happens very rarely", said Vučić. In response to Milomir Marić's remark that the story included two companies that were involved in the supervision of the reconstruction project of the railway station building in Novi Sad, whose canopy collapsed on people, the president said that they were French and Hungarian companies.
"Fortunately, no one is from here. And the project was done by our best house in Serbia, CIP did everything that exists in Serbia. And private individuals can't wait for the CIP license to be taken," said Vučić. Commenting on the resignation of the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, Vučić said that it was human and political honesty. He noted that "the majority in the Government think that such a gesture is necessary", while he himself decided to respect the will of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Minister Vesić.
HE CAME BECAUSE OF TWO BROKEN GLASSES
Vučić did not appear in Novi Sad on November 1, although somehow it is a widespread practice around the world that, when major accidents occur, the highest state officials appear on the spot. Prime Minister Vucevic, the former mayor of Novi Sad, came, saw and flew to Shanghai.
Again, Vučić appears only when something is officially opened and when he needs to take credit. Or when someone breaks two windows on the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party. That's exactly what happened on November 5. He came to Novi Sad after the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party were painted over and stones were thrown at them during protests in this city. As he told the crowd, he had three important messages to send.
"First of all, all the culprits and those who are guilty in any way will be held accountable for what happened in Novi Sad. Under two, and it consists of two parts, the first is that you will never be able to achieve anything with violence in modern Serbia. I ask that we never respond to them the way they think they can behave. To show the difference between them and us. And I have a special message, Novi Sad will be governed by Hungarians and Serbs and Ruthenians and Slovaks and everyone else, and never by those who hate the Serbian people. For those who think they can manage Novi Sad like Belivuk, Miljković and many others thought, for those who think they can scare everyone who thinks differently in Novi Sad with drug money - from tomorrow the fiercest possible action against all drug dealers will start. "We will clean Novi Sad of those who thought and thought that they could manage Serbia in any way," said Vučić.
God does not know what the third message is - perhaps it belongs to the continuation of this meaningless speech in which he said that he came because they "trampled the Serbian flag".
Namely, before they stained the windows of the SNS premises with red paint, the demonstrators removed the flags of Serbia. They are not stupid, they know the Law on the appearance and use of the coat of arms, flag and anthem. The videos show that the flags are carefully removed and packed so as not to stain them with paint.
But Vučić, he says, was sitting in Belgrade and watching the protest on TV, and something inside him snapped when they touched those flags. Nothing shook, cracked and danced when he saw that the canopy killed 14 people on the spot. Because of (at that moment) 14 dead, he did not come, but because of the stained and cracked windows at the SNS premises, he immediately went to Novi Sad. Just to show priorities. And even then, in that black-shrouded city, surrounded by his supporters, he did not find it appropriate to mention in any way the horror that happened. But he thought of promising the arrest of drug dealers, who have as much to do with everything that is happening as Ibar has to do with the Ganga. It is assumed that he was referring to Goran Kovačević Goranec, for whom, apart from the fact that he has a thick file, there are indications that he cooperates with SNS. Well, that one escaped from the country these days.
PAINTING AT THE FUNERAL
Vučić caused additional public anger with pictures from the funeral of two girls and their grandfather, all three of whom were killed when the canopy fell. The pictures are posted on his Instagram account "Future of Serbia" and it is quite clear that they were carefully directed. On them, Vučić can be seen from behind, and whoever took the picture, painted three crabs over his shoulder so that everyone could see the extent of his pain and suffering. Then, the president of Serbia throws a clod of earth into the crab. Well, two more pictures, in which he is being baptized.
Part of the public on social networks directed their anger at the family that did not drive him away. It is very important to remember: the families of the dead are not and cannot be guilty of anything. The families of the dead are not and cannot be leaders of the opposition. We are talking about people who buried their father and their two daughters that day. And about a man guarded by Cobras who came to take pictures at the funeral of someone's father and someone's children. About the man who did not go to "Vladislav Ribnikar" elementary school to register in the book of mourning, and then claimed that he was there.
Although we can follow President Vučić's every step on the "Future of Serbia" Instagram account, only two posts are dedicated to the accident in Novi Sad: these pictures from the funeral and a statement from the evening of November 1 when the canopy collapsed. There are not even pictures of the visit to Novi Sad on the night of the protest on November 5. It is similar on his other Instagram account @avucic.
The "Future of Serbia" account has a regular video column "Week with the President", a sort of overview of his weekly activities. The canopy collapsed on November 1st, and on Sunday November 3rd there was no column, only to appear again on November 10th and, judging by that announcement, we are again an economic tiger, flowers are blooming and everything is fine in the country of Serbia.
In other posts, the president of Serbia was photographed at the market picking cabbage, meeting with Viktor Orban and other White World weirdos, and he also took burgers to construction workers from China who are building the Expo. An interesting coincidence, because he himself expressed concern about whether the Expo will even be held after the accident in Novi Sad. So we have a president doing crisis PR instead of taking responsibility for anything in this country.
DEVIL IN THE EARS, GENOA AND PILES
Finally, at the moment of writing this text, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is addressing the public from the Presidency of Serbia. At the very beginning, he expressed his condolences to the family of the girl who is the 15th victim of the accident in Novi Sad. He announced new resignations as early as Wednesday.
"Responsibility in criminal law must exist because 15 people did not die through their own fault, but because someone did not do their job properly and in accordance with the law," said Vučić. And then he cried again that it was the hardest for him.
"It has been a problem for us for days that some have managed to slow down Serbia, not with their politics or protests, but with the fear they spread. Today, you cannot get the signature of any government body, nobody will put their signature on anything so that they are not responsible. All of us, like beasts, are out for blood without understanding that we should trust the state to find those responsible. In the health centers, people are asking us to demolish the canopies, we postponed the opening of the Belgrade-Subotica railway, how are we going to reconstruct the bridges, who will let it go."
So he continued to ask himself how to proceed: "What is Serbia going to do in the next two years, how is it going to increase salaries and pensions, let go of daily politics. It becomes almost impossible, absolutely impossible! I will do my best until the end of my mandate to try to fight the devil in my ears when I listen to the once frightened, often angry people, trying to take on a greater responsibility than ever for the country to progress."
He then explained why he had held a meeting with associates in the Presidency the evening before: "I told Miloš (Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, ed. nov): it's not a problem, everything that is needed until the end of the mandate, put it on me. It's all my fault. Serbia must not stop. Europe has stopped, their growth rate is 0,7, ours is 3,9 or 4,0.”
And he whined that no one intentionally caused the "tragedy" in Novi Sad, but "ignorance, incompetence and irresponsibility do not absolve you of guilt."
Then he suddenly shouted at the opposition: "Why are you lying that 50 people were arrested in Genoa in 24 hours?" A bridge collapsed there, 43 people died, the first arrest was made two years later, the process is still not over after 180 hearings. Why are you lying, so that we don't build anything?"
The president is in trouble, and it's the hardest for him, because there's a guy around the piles for the foundations of the national stadium, so now nobody will do it, because he's asking for a hundred times more insurance than before.
Then he moved on to his, standard: how much sugar, corn, gas, electricity do we have, will there be more pension increases next year, and all of that followed by graphs. And then the roads, he has until Vidovdan to reopen one hundred thousand million kilometers of roads.
And there is already enough of that. It's long overdue.
