Trump's son-in-law's resignation Jared Kushner from the construction of apartments, hotels and casinos has, at least for now, removed the danger of prolonged criminal activity by the current government, at least in the area of the former General Staff.
At the same time, the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime filed an indictment against the Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković and three others, considering that they abused their position and falsified, in order to remove the protection of cultural property from the General Staff.

There are many "ifs", writes Radmilo Marković in the title text.
If Selaković or the Government do not invoke immunity, if something does not happen to the prosecutors and their families, if the government fails to suppress the prosecution, if the police act according to the orders of the prosecution, it is possible that the General Staff case will make its way to the very "heart of darkness", where it originated.
The President of the country, Aleksandar Vučić, has already said that the "crown of his career" would be if he personally answers for the General Staff, threatening the prosecutors and all those who "drove away" Jared Kushner's investment.
And Selaković and others, if they are accused, the president will absolve them from prosecution - he is "competent" for that.
Can TOK "win"?
In an interview, experienced lawyer Slobodan Beljanski talks about such pardons as abuse.
"Apparently, the president is not aware that by exempting himself from criminal prosecution, he indirectly admits that he does not trust the judiciary, because he knows that until now the judiciary could be influenced from the top, but that recently the success of such patronage is uncertain and that the guilt of those pardoned would be proven in the regular procedure."
When asked if he believes that the prosecution can fight, Beljanski says that by changing the law and "acrobatics in personnel deployment", the ruling majority can still immobilize the prosecution.
"But the prosecution also has the opportunity to turn to the facts and the law and conscientiously approach its work. Sometimes it is useful to be utopian."
