So that children from Fifth high school received a voucher from the state, they must submit a special parental consent, which includes the obligatory indication of the JMBG of both parents.
"Because of that, a large number of students were denied the right that belongs to them according to the decision of the City of Belgrade," state the school's teachers. "Additional concern is caused by the fact that the school took vouchers based on the total number of students, and then excluded a part of the students from distribution due to the parents' refusal to include their JMBG with written consent, which raises the suspicion that part of the taken vouchers was not distributed on purpose."
The teachers point out that such action is in direct contradiction to the response of the Secretariat of Education, which informed parents that "the distribution of vouchers to schools was carried out in accordance with the number of children registered and confirmed by the school authorities". They add that all relevant data about students and parents are already in ES Dnevnik, which is why there is no legal basis for additional collection of sensitive data, nor for making the student's right to a voucher conditional.
Bearing in mind the context of earlier events at the school, the teachers justifiably express their suspicion that such selective and restrictive behavior may represent a form of pressure or a kind of retaliation against the students who previously publicly demanded the removal of the acting principal Thanks Nešović.
The teachers demand that the Secretariat for Education urgently order the school to distribute vouchers to all students of the Fifth Belgrade Gymnasium without additional and illegal conditions, investigate the legality of the actions of the acting director of the school, including the number of vouchers taken and distributed, as well as to inform teachers and parents about the measures taken, without delay.
