The request to visit Kosovo was rejected Minister of Health in the Government of Serbia in a technical mandate Zlatibor Lončar, the ministry announced.
According to the statement published on the website of the Ministry of Health, signed by Lončar, he intended to visit KBC Kosovska Mitrovica and KBC Gračanica, and, as he states, the visit was announced on time and in accordance with all valid and agreed regulations.
In a statement, Lončar assessed that considering the announcement and the purpose of the visit, the ban represents a direct violation of the current agreements.
"Shameful decision by Pristina"
"It is shameful the decision of the temporary institutions in Prishtina that I, as the Minister of Health of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, am not allowed to visit Kosovo and Metohija and visit the health workers and Serbian medical institutions that operate in the area of our southern province," stated the statement of the outgoing Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar.
As it is added, "the purpose of the visit was not of a political nature, but to make sure of the functioning of the Serbian health system in Kosovo and Metohija, which provides all medical services equally to Serbs and Albanians, following a deeply humane approach and never making any distinction on any basis".
"For Aljbin Kurti, in this example too, politics came before people's health and well-being", assessed Lončar.
As he added, "while Aljbin Kurti directly and unequivocally supports the protests in Serbia, at the same time he implements such profoundly anti-civilization bans, which directly disrupt the normalization of relations."
The Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced
The Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora confirmed for the KoSSev portal that the Serbian minister's request to come to Kosovo was rejected. The reason - it followed only 4 days after the Serbian side ignored the request of a Kosovo minister.
"Regarding your question, we inform you that the visit of the Minister of Health of Serbia, Zlatibor Lončar, to Kosovo is not allowed, because the Serbian authorities previously rejected the request of the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hajrula Ceku, to visit Preševo," the ministry said.
Ceku's request, they further state, was sent through the Liaison Office of Pristina on March 20, and he was supposed to make the visit today.
"He did not receive any response from the Serbian side until March 26, the day of the planned visit. On the other hand, the Serbian side submitted its request on March 24, four days after our request, and requested that their visit be a priority...".
The Kosovo MSP believes that this situation is:
"A clear example of Serbia's destructive approach which aims to impose bias in the treatment of official visits".
The Serbian list condemned the ban on Lončar
By the way, the decision to refuse Lončar's visit to Kosovo was condemned by the Srpska lista party in the meantime, stressing that it is a decision that is against the current agreements.
"The visit was extremely important for the health system in Kosovo and Metohija and all citizens who use the services of this system, Serbs, Bosniaks, Roma, Gorani and Albanians," they stated.
All those who remain silent are accomplices.
"Health care is a basic right that must be protected and guaranteed in accordance with agreements, but also international treaties and conventions on human rights," they stated.
