The meeting of farmers in the Government of Serbia ended a little before 15 pm. Representatives of the government sent the offer to the farmers, and they are expected to respond to it by 20 pm tonight, reports RTS.
The meeting started today at 9 am.
Representatives of seven farmers' associations, who have been protesting for days in several cities because their demands have not been met, met in the Government of Serbia with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Minister of Agriculture Jelena Tanasković and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali. At the same time, farmers blocked roads in several places across the country.
It is not known what was offered to them at the meeting, because such an agreement is between the farmers and the Government.
As they announced earlier, road blockades will last until the demands are fully met.
The farmers demanded from the Serbian government that the lowest purchase price of milk be 78 dinars plus VAT, subsidies of 35.000 per hectare for all registered areas, that is, the abolition of restrictions on subsidies up to 20 hectares.
They also demanded that the premium for milk be at least 20 dinars per liter, that the reference price of agricultural crops be equated with the commodity exchanges in Budapest and Paris, as well as the regulation of the import of milk and dairy products into Serbia with levies for the countries of the European Union and the CEFTA agreement and on all dairy products in amounts that will give results and discourage imports.
Farmers also requested diesel fuel for all arable land without excise duty with VAT, 100 liters per hectare for farmers and 300 liters per hectare for vegetable crops.
Their request is also a recourse for dairy cows in the amount of 40.000 dinars per cow.
Earlier today, the whistling of farmers, the shouting of "Whoa" and the honking of parked tractors greeted the Minister of Agriculture Jelena Tanasković today at the opening of the 90th Jubilee Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.
"We are blowing the whistle because the attitude towards us is shameful, not all of last year's promises have been fulfilled, nor have all the subsidies been paid, especially not for sunflowers." They will not deceive us anymore", say the Initiative, which gathers seven associations of farmers from Vojvodina and Šumadija.
As they say, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of Serbia in the previous days first rejected all their requests and then tried to deceive them by bringing in some other associations of farmers with whom they reached an "alleged agreement".
Because of all this, the road blockades continue even today, even though negotiations with their representatives were ongoing in the Government of Serbia.
