The Minister of Agriculture, Jelena Tanasković, stated today for Radio and Television of Serbia that the spread of African swine fever has been stopped by working around the clock.
"38.000 pigs were euthanized, the owners whose pigs were destroyed are regularly paid. "It is important to defend large farms, we created defense belts, and that gave results," Tanasković said.
She pointed out that the state will fulfill everything it promised to farmers, which has now been confirmed by the budget rebalancing, pointing out that for the first time the Ministry's budget will amount to 114,4 billion dinars.
Stating that the state will continue to encourage farmers with subsidies, Tanasković added that payments for milk are ongoing, and that subsidies for land will also be paid in September, regardless of the fact that control of plots is still ongoing.
"354 parcels were inspected, of which 320 farms entered those 354 parcels and 280 have irregularities," said Tanasković and added that these are irregularities that are simply such that there can be no mistakes. "We are talking about parcels that cannot be farmed, because there is a forest or something similar on them. "Everyone is interested in cleaning it up and solving it, so that the people who really work the land get money," Tanasković said.
