Inspectors and Kosovo police before noon they entered the branch of the Tax Administration of the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Serbia in the northern part Kosovska Mitrovica and began a search, forcing the employees to leave the premises.
"Around nine o'clock we entered this building, which, according to our knowledge, functions as a tax administration (as a branch of the Ministry of Finance of Serbia). At this place, we came across evidence that confirms our suspicions, and after consultation with the prosecutor, the people who were there left that place and that building was closed until a complete verification of the facts," confirmed the deputy commander of the so-called Kosovo Police in the North region, Veton Eljšani.
He added that a case has been opened and an investigation has been launched under the suspicion of "falsification of documents".
No arrests have been made, Elishani added.
In the previous days, before the Christmas holidays, the Kosovo police raided the building of the Social Enterprise "Urbanism", and just a day before, the building of the Public Housing Enterprise and the Directorate for Urban Construction Land and Roads in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
Office for KiM: Workers will not be left without income to live on
The office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that throwing around 80 employees of the Tax Administration into the street represents "a brutal violation of their basic human rights, including the right to work, in its reaction to today's sealing of this institution by the Kosovo authorities."
The office now points out that today practically "about 80 workers were thrown out onto the street":
"It is a brutal violation of their basic human rights, including the right to work."
The State of Serbia will not allow, they stated further, that the existence of these workers be threatened, nor that they remain without income for life. And that, they believe, is what hurts the Kosovo Prime Minister.
"And that is what hurts Kurti the most, that he cannot stop the aid to the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, that he cannot break either the spirit or the will of the Serbian people to survive on their centuries-old hearths," the Office states.
And today's action, according to the Office, is only part of Kurti's pre-election program.
"Kurti, who does not want anything good for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, together with his henchmen like Nenad Rašić, bases his pre-election program exclusively on the extermination of Serbs and their expulsion from the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, in order to further prevent the Serbs from voting in the upcoming elections and thus help their desired candidates to continue their anti-Serb policy".
Although EULEX itself monitored the sealing of another Serbian institution in the field today, the Office is concerned about the "inaction of the international community".
"Once again, we demand that they clearly define themselves according to the illegal moves of Pristina and answer the question of whether they are supporting them by not reacting, and by being present on the ground and during the actions of Kurti's police, they are actually shielding their actions?", concludes this announcement.
