The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia resigned Alexander Vulin he thanked on Saturday Russia "for supporting the legal and legitimate bodies of Serbia and re-establishing order and stability in the country".
In Moscow, Vulin repeated the "request" that former Prime Minister Miloš Vucevic sent to the Russian side "that Russian specialists participate in the investigation into the alleged use of a sound cannon during the March 15 protest" in Belgrade.
During his official visit to Russia, Vulin discussed the matter with the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Army General Sergej Shoigu, the Government of Serbia announced.
Shoigu thanked Vulin as a "proven and sincere friend of Russia, for his contribution to preserving the friendship and close relations between the two peoples", and Vulin pointed out that Shoigu was "a proven friend of Serbia, who always stood by the Serbian people in difficult times".
"It was established that the recent conversation between two friends, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, gave new momentum to the further strengthening of relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries," the announcement reads.
The government reported that Vulin informed Shoigu that Serbia "corrected the mistake it made during the vote on the UN General Assembly resolution and changed its vote to abstention" and that he pointed out that "it is always better to admit a mistake and save friends."
Vulin and Shoigu agreed on the continuation of "close cooperation in the field of security between the two states", the statement reads.
