"Yesterday there was an attempt at a large and fierce hybrid attack on our country," said the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić in addressing the public on the occasion of, as he said, the incident in Zubin Potok i current situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
He pointed out that he will present the facts about the explosion in the village of Varage, when the Ibar-Lepenac canal was damaged, because "since we listened carefully to Pristina officials, we did not hear many facts from their media."
"They accused Serbia and Russia for that. Why are we so calm and why will we insist more than anyone else on this case? Because there is nothing to show and prove if something does not exist," said Vučić.
At first, he pointed out that the action was staged and "stupidly designed", but then he stated that Serbia will not accuse anyone.
"As a serious country, we did not deal with accusations." We have certain doubts, the investigation will show who ordered it. "We think we have some information about who could be the perpetrator," he said.
If any of the Serbs participated in this, they will be immediately arrested and prosecuted if they are in central Serbia, said Vučić.
"I'm afraid that won't happen," he added.
Order of Kosovo, order of increasing pensions
The President of Serbia added that the Kosovo police, contrary to international law, raided Serbian houses in Zubin Potok, which allegedly had indications that they were connected to the explosion.
"You will see now that such a serious police does not work. This has nothing to do with a serious investigation, this is a mindless attack on Serbian houses and hosts," said Vučić.
Everything was a "show for the domestic and international public", after which an "additional occupation" was carried out in the north of Kosovo.
He then thanked Grenell and Orban, "even" the German Foreign Ministry for their restraint.
And then he moved on to increasing pensions, "to make pensioners happy that they can prepare a roast for Christmas", helping young people to become independent and building highways.
About the protests and the case of Miloš Vucevic's son
When asked about the protests that have gripped Serbia in recent weeks, Vučić said that "violence is carried out by those who do not register their gatherings and trample on the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of movement."
"And I have to say that to everyone, including people from SNS and SPS, I will always say it. I saw it down in Belgrade on the water, and I saw how there were fights. Come on, wash yourself with cold water, think about what you are saying and what you want. The police did not approve that gathering, which means that it is considered prohibited. You cannot prevent someone from moving around their country. And then you ask the police to help you while you prevent others," said Vučić.
"They say that representatives of municipalities also appeared somewhere." Yes, and? Just like I didn't understand the point of that video with Zobenica. Let's say it is, although I don't think it's true. "You have the right to punish people, but no one has the right to oppose," he said.
Asked for a comment about the teacher of the "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" gymnasium, whom the tabloids accuse of having "forced" the son of Miloš Vučević to participates in the "Stop, Serbia" protest, Vučić said that he "hopes for an apology".
"Those teachers were interested in politics, and they must not be interested in that." We are private, outside of children and classes. Not at school. I hope they issue an apology, luckily it was less than one percent of the teaching staff. But let those frightened people think carefully about what they did against the interests of children," added Vučić.
