"There is no miracle worker who can bring a good solution to the Serbs Kosovo and Metohija, and whatever we proposed in the end, everyone would be against it," said the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić in a new dramatic address to the public.
"Those who call for arms, the first day we invite them to make beds in the barracks, would say that it is a lot and difficult for them, and that they did not fight for it, let alone go to war with someone, and those who call for the recognition of the independence of Kosovo and facing our own past and the legalization of Kosovo's independence, if we do that, they would tell us that we are traitors," said Vučić.
He pointed out that Kosovo is the most expensive and traitor is the cheapest Serbian word and added that he said that "because we were never fair and honest with ourselves when we talked about Kosovo and Metohija".
Vučić's great Kosovo siege
"There is no solution for the Kosovo and Metohija problem that would be satisfactory for the Serbs," Vučić was honest.
He boasted that he knows every Serbian village and "almost every Serbian house in Kosovo and Metohija" and that he knows all the problems, but that he knows that "there is no good solution."
What is Serbia looking for?
Vučić said that Serbia is asking for a return to what was achieved in the process of dialogue, free local elections, the return of Serbs to the police and judiciary, and the release of political prisoners.
"We believe that any serious progress in the dialogue requires the calling of free and democratic elections in the north of Kosovo," said Vučić.
Serbia will also ask for the formation of the North regional directorate, in which the police officers will be Serbs.
It will also be requested that Serbian prosecutors and judges return to their positions and that Kosovo police officers be withdrawn from the institutions in the north of Kosovo.
"We are looking for the urgent, immediate and final formation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities," said Vučić.
He added that Serbia is demanding the implementation of the guarantees of the European Union and the USA from December 28 and the release of all political prisoners, citing that 86 people have been arrested, and that 98 are on the arrest list.
Vučić also demanded the immediate provision of uninterrupted payment transactions and postal services.
He pointed out that all this is provided for in the agreements and called on Quinta and the international community to stick to what they wrote themselves.
Special area of social protection
Vučić announced that in the next 45 days, a law will be adopted that will declare Kosovo and Metohija a special area of social protection.
This will ensure financial support for unemployed Serbs from Kosovo.
This means that about 5.000 employed Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija will be allocated 20.000 dinars per month, and according to Vučić, tens of millions of euros are at stake.
Free textbooks will be provided for children in primary and secondary schools, and a decision on a lunch allowance of about 5.000 dinars will be adopted.
Vuči stated that 41 doctors will be employed, 59 people will be employed as medical staff and that physiatry and kitchen departments will be equipped, and 109 geronto housewives will be employed.
Special prosecutorial body
Vučić also announced that Serbia will establish a special prosecution body, which will fill the legal vacuum.
That body, as a lex specialis, will establish the legal possibility to prosecute all those who participate in the persecution and expulsion of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.
He stated that it will be a special judicial and prosecutorial panel that will investigate and prosecute officials who violate the human rights of Serbs.
This will also include people of Serbian nationality "who persecute the Serbian people in the name and at the expense of the Albanian secret police".
Vučić emphasized that a special decision will be adopted which will treat as non-existent and invalid all decisions that are contrary to the signed and agreed agreements from the dialogue mediated by the European Union.
Serbia is for peace and dialogue
Vučić pointed out that Belgrade always tried to achieve peace and compromise in the dialogue with Pristina, but it turned out that neither the signature of the European Union nor Pristina on the Brussels Agreement and its annexes from 2015 mean anything.
"We were trying to show that Serbia is for peace and dialogue and that compromise is not an ugly word," said Vučić.
He pointed out that Pristina usurped rights after the Brussels Agreement and that this agreement was followed by the collapse of that agreement and the deterioration of the position of the Serbs.
"Silent and loud expulsion and the desire to make the Serbs disappear at any cost is the only guarantee that Kosovo will be independent or, as the Albanians think, free. This was especially pronounced in the era of Kosovo Prime Minister Aljbin Kurti, and we can only expect worse news, because elections are coming up in Kosovo," said Vučić.
