President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić he was a guest on Serbian Radio and Television and - he didn't say anything new.
In the show, which lasted almost an hour and a half, Vučić spoke about the dialogue with university professors, students, blockades, the country's economic decline due to protests, announced the arrests for corruption and the decision on the session of the National Assembly where the resignation of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and the Government will be accepted.
Vučić said that he will continue to insist on dialogue and assessed that students have more courage than some professors, referring to the refusal of the Rector's College of the University of Belgrade to the invitation for dialogue.
He pointed out that, as a political veteran, he wondered how the professors would explain the rejection of his invitation to dialogue.
"The reasoning was, not at all, but nonsensical, with a lot of crazy excuses and everything else, and I have nothing against that." I wasn't even, to be completely frank, personally hurt or vain, so that they say they won't talk to you. I was ready for them to talk to whoever they wanted," said Vučić.
Let us remind you that the Rector's College of the University of Belgrade considered the invitation to dialogue sent by the President of the Republic of Serbia on February 3, 2025 and, expressing the unity of the University, made a decision not to accept the invitation under these circumstances, this institution announced.
Assembly session for the resignation of the Government in the next ten days
In the next 10 to 12 days, the resignation of the Government and its President should be confirmed, which means that from February 17 or 18, the 30-day deadlines for forming a new government or calling for elections will run, President Vučić said.
"The government should be formed by March 19 or 20, and if it is not formed, then it means that our elections would most likely be at the beginning of May." So those two options are the only possible ones. "I think it is good to try to create a good government, because the Expo is extremely important to us," said the president.
All the worst about the blockades
The president said that he thinks the worst about the blockades and added that because of the blockades, the country has regressed economically, as well as that road and bridge blockades represent mistreatment of citizens and are unconstitutional and illegal.
"You will not convince me that roadblocks are a solution and something that brings something good to the citizens of Serbia." It is an unconstitutional action. Any such gathering is directly illegal. Some were registered and we secured that with ease. The largest number of those gatherings are illegal and unconstitutional," said Vučić.
As he spoke, footage of student protests also appeared on the screen.
He called on all those who support him to be disciplined and not create any incident during student protests and blockades.
"It is up to us to try to stand still, not to allow impatience and nervousness to make us take any wrong step, and that's why I am using the opportunity once again for all those who support me and the majority in Serbia to be absolutely disciplined," said Vučić.
Vučić called the protest a colored revolution and said that the state is maximally lenient.
He also said that what happened in the last three, four, five months, no man would survive politically.
"That didn't happen to Fitz either." That didn't happen to Orban either. This has never happened to anyone to such an extent and in such a way. And we managed to push the country forward again," said the president.
"I have no problem with someone demonstrating." "We have never prevented anyone's freedom of assembly," the president said.
Speaking about the fall of the canopy of the railway station in Novi Sad, Vučić said that all documentation had been published.
He pointed out that it is the job of the Tax Administration and the Prosecutor's Office to investigate whether there was corruption somewhere, "and not the professor of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, Dejan Šoškić, who is a member of the newly formed independent survey commission."
"I have no idea which companies were subcontractors, whether some subcontractor gave less money somewhere, we are dealing with that, there will be arrests," said Vučić.
About the teachers' strike and salaries
The president also touched on the strike of educators and their salaries.
He said that the teachers do not have the right to completely suspend work, but to shorten the hours, but that all teachers received the same salaries for January, as if they had been working all the time.
"Professors and teachers have the right to shorten the hours and that is fair, but they do not have the right to suspend work." This is impossible according to the laws of our country and anywhere in the world, but we let it go and said that everyone should get the same salary in January. We will see what will happen in February," said Vučić.
Declaration for Vojvodina, meeting with Putin
The president spoke about some other important topics and announced a declaration on Vojvodina in Serbia.
"We will make a not a small meeting, I can't say a big one, but not a small meeting and make a special declaration about Vojvodina in Serbia, a political declaration, which has nothing to do with any protests, nothing, so our political declaration is important and it will happen in one of the following days, whether it will be the day before or the day after the Meeting or at the Meeting, or we will see how and where," said Vučić.
Vučić also announced an upcoming meeting with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and said that he does not want to spoil relations with Russia, nor with America.
Vučić also said that he will fight for the country with even greater energy.
"I have gained such strength that you cannot understand it." My energy is now on the nth degree. I will fight with such force, I will fight with such energy for this country. I will fight so that no one's parents ever go through what my parents had to go through," said Vučić. He previously explained that his parents are broken and that his mother watches Informer all day long, "taking care of her children and grandchildren."
