Although he initially announced that he would consultations on the new Government of Serbia will begin on Monday (March 31), the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić announced a new date that day.
This time, he said the consultation will begin on Wednesday, April 2.
Vučić, in the National Daily TV Pink, said that he sent a letter to all newspaper holders and parliamentary groups for consultation.
"Five or six newspapers have registered that they want to come for consultations. On Wednesday, we will formally start with that part of the work and we will finish it by Friday. We will receive two or three groups a day," said Vučić.
He stated that he expects that eventually the largest parliamentary group of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will inform him whether they want to form a government or whether they want new elections.
"I am sure that there is no mood in the SNS, and it is in agreement with mine, for any kind of transitional government," said Vučić.
He repeated that there will not be a transitional government as the opposition wants, but that there will be a government as the citizens of Serbia, i.e. the majority of people in Serbia, want.
Several opposition parliamentary parties announced on Monday (March 31st) that will not participate in the consultation.
