President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić answered the Vidovdan from a tent in Pioneer Park where he sat with "students who want to learn" and declared their victory.
"Here I am here in Pionirski Park, or as we like to call it, Ćaciland, with pride, with these wonderful young people who just want to learn and who now realize that they have finally won," said Vučić.
"They now understand that everything is returning to normal and not only because the blockaders had three times less than on March 15, but because they are convinced of their struggle, convinced of justice, truth, convinced of their ideals. There is nothing more solid than ideals. Ideals are solid, strong, just like Manasija, just like Ravanica, just like Kalemegdan fortress, Petrovaradin fortress, Niš fortress, like all our most beautiful cities and villages," he added.
"Thank you to the citizens for the enormous support. Whether we will have violence tonight or not, it does not depend on us or these young people here. I am proud of them and always will be. I wish them good health. They have exams. Thank your parents and thank you endlessly. Long live Serbia," concluded the President of Serbia from Pionirski Park.
Two gatherings on Vidovdan
On Saturday, June 28, Belgrade became the venue for two opposing gatherings - a student and civil protest at Slavia, as well as a "cultural evening" in Ćaciland and on the plateau in front of the National Assembly.
The student meeting in Slavia officially ended a little before 22 pm, when the students announced to the citizens that "guided by conscience, take freedom into your own hands."
"We believe in you," said the students.
