President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić made 13 decisions on pardons, the Presidency announced on Wednesday (January 29).
There are six students: DB from Novi Sad, MM from Novi Sad, MK from Novi Sad, IB from Požega, RS from Sremska Kamenica, MS from Žablja. He pardoned a dean - NJ from Niš and an assistant professor at the faculty, i.e. RJ from Novi Sad.
Also, as stated in the announcement, four school principals were pardoned: BM from Šabac, ME from Bogatić, MI from Šabac, SMJ from Šabac, as well as one auxiliary worker at the VM school from Prokuplje.
Decisions on pardons have been submitted to the Ministry of Justice in order to carry out further procedures, it was stated.
Has the request of the students been fulfilled?
Vučić previously in one of his addresses mentioned pardon from the criminal prosecution of 13 students and professors, i.e. those arrested during and after the protest in Novi Sad, which took place on November 5.
The pardon, according to his interpretation, should be the fulfillment of the third demand of the students.
The third demand of the students reads: "Dismissal of the criminal charges against the arrested and detained students at the protests, as well as the suspension of the already initiated criminal proceedings."
This request was addressed to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad.
