The Election Commission of the City Municipality of Sevojno rejected it electoral list "United - Sevojno" for elections for councilors of the Assembly of GO Sevojno scheduled for March 29th, due to the fact that, as stated in the decision, it was submitted by an unauthorized person.
As stated in the decision, the election list was submitted by Dušan Matić on March 7 at 3:02 p.m., on behalf of the United Citizens Group - Sevojno.
"A review of the documentation found that the Agreement on the formation of the United Citizens Group - Sevojno was attached to the Electoral List, in which Stanko Ćirković from Sevojno was listed as the person authorized to submit the electoral list," the decision reads.
As it is added, the person who submitted it, namely Dušan Matić, is not authorized to submit the said list, nor did he attach the document by which the authorized person from the coalition agreement transferred that authority to him.
That, as stated in the explanation, represents an "irremovable obstacle to consideration of the electoral list and a legal basis for its rejection."
In the decision of the Electoral Commission of GO Sevojno, it is added that against this decision, the applicant of the electoral list can submit an objection to the Electoral Commission within 48 hours from the publication of the decision on the website of the Republic Electoral Commission.
Gavrilović: If it is true, someone must be held accountable
The Vice President of the Democratic Party, MIodrag Gavrilović, assessed that, if it is determined to be true, someone must be held accountable for such a move.
He stated in a post on social networks that the rejection of the electoral list "United - Sevojno" is a serious scandal if it is confirmed that it was submitted by a person who was not authorized to do so.
"The electoral list 'United - Sevojno' was submitted by a person who, according to the Agreement on the formation of a group of citizens, is not authorized to submit the aforementioned electoral list, which is why it was rejected. If this is really true, and according to all indications it is, it is a serious disgrace and someone must be held accountable for it," stated Gavrilović.
Citizens' rally in front of GIK
Citizens of Sevojno gathered last night in front of the City Election Commission in this place because, as Dušan Matić said, "dark vehicles with Belgrade license plates were noticed" in front of this institution.
As Matić pointed out last night, they doubted that their list would be defeated for the second time.
"We gathered because we encountered obstruction from the City Electoral Commission when submitting our list for the second time. We came to a situation where we have to defend our right. The Municipal Electoral Commission plans to knock down our list due to the legal formalities that occurred when signing the documents," he explained.
