Vladimir Obradović, the candidate for mayor of Belgrade from the Serbia Against Violence list in the elections held on December 17, is on protest rally of students and youth organization "Borba" in front of the Faculty of Philosophy came both as a professor and as a politician.
"I came to support them." We have a common need to preserve the electoral will, to eliminate theft. Our common goal is to cancel and repeat the irregular elections," Obradović told Vreme.
Striving for a free society, everyone organizes some of their own actions, "we are here, as they will be tonight from 18 pm at the protest in front of the RIK".
"So I look at everything that is happening as a synergistic effect, because we all work together to reach a common goal," explains Obradović.
And where are all those protests leading, which Aleksandar Vučić and the progressive government are simply ignoring not only now, but for a whole decade?
"I hope, no, I'm sure, that they lead to what we are looking for, which is the annulment of the stolen elections and the calling of new, democratic elections in accordance with the constitutional rights of citizens to free choice," says the professor at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
He is aware that it is not easy to maintain the motivation of citizens to constantly protest and take to the streets, but this is a "civil struggle".
"You had the opportunity these days to see what this government is ready to do just to not recognize the will of the citizens." We have also seen excessive use of force by the police, apprehension of young people", says Obradović.
He concludes that people are aware that if they don't fight for a free and democratic society now, no matter how long it lasts, it will be "the death of democracy in Serbia", so everyone must do their best to prevent it.
Serbia against violence will continue with protests in front of the RIK every day from 18 p.m., and on Saturday everyone will join the big protest at the Terazije fountain called by ProGlas.
