The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office (VJT) in Belgrade announced that the MUP has not yet submitted a report on the attack and injury of police officer Lazar Baćić at a protest in front of the Radio and Television of Serbia on March 10, 2025.
In response to the Beta agency's question about what it is Higher public prosecution (VJT) has so far done to discover the perpetrator of that attack, the Prosecutor's Office stated that on March 11, 2025, it ordered the police to urgently identify the persons who attacked members of the Gendarmerie in front of the Radio Television of Serbia building, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed the crime of "violent behavior at a sports event or public gathering."
"On the same occasion, it was ordered to identify the persons who attacked a police officer in civilian clothes during the performance of official duties and caused an eye injury to him. The order was given in the form of a request to collect the necessary information, on which the police is expected to submit a report to the prosecutor's office, based on which further action will be decided. The requested police report has not yet been submitted to the VJT in Belgrade," announced the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Baćić case
Policeman Baćić suffered a serious eye injury on the critical night, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić then announced that the policeman was attacked and injured by protest participants.
Vučić also published a photo from the hospital with a seriously injured policeman.
"Lazar Baćić, a policeman, was attacked by Bolshevik plenums in front of the RTS building. He received serious bodily injuries. Terrifying. They hit him with a boxer. Thugs think that everything is allowed to them. It is not. They will answer for every violence they have committed. So much for peaceful protesters and especially the vulnerable. Normal Serbia will win, democratic Serbia will win," said Vučić on his Instagram account.
However, on the videos published by the students, it was clearly seen that the policeman Baćić was hit and injured by members of the Gendarmerie, which he later confirmed in a telephone conversation with his former colleague Slobodan Pajić from Loznica, which was reported by the media.
