Minister of Finance Siniša Mali stated before the Government session that he expects the law on apartments for young people to be adopted in the assembly during February, so that from March 1st started to be implemented, reports RTS.
According to him, this is the most important law when it comes to young people, because it gives them the opportunity to get an apartment with the support of the state, and that it will stimulate the growth of the economy and the construction industry.
He emphasized that the state covers two elements of the loan, namely the down payment and the amount of interest in the first six years of repayment.
"No Credit Limit"
He emphasized that there is no limit when it comes to the amount of income of those who take the loan and that it will be possible for everyone from 20 to 35 years old, regardless of the amount of income.
Mali explained, the unemployed between the ages of 20 and 35 will be able to take the loan, but they will have to have a creditworthy guarantor. Using the example of an apartment worth 100.000 euros, Mali explained that according to the current market conditions, the down payment should be 20.000 euros, and given that these loans are guaranteed by the state, the down payment will be only one percent, or 1.000 euros.
"The banks are ready, several banks have accepted this program, they expect us to adopt the bill and to see the details, and from March 1 implementation is starting," Mali pointed out.
Salary increase for educators
The session also adopted the Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on Coefficients for Calculation and Payment of Salaries of Employees in Public Services, which corrects the coefficients for the performance of certain groups of employees in education in primary and secondary schools, as well as preschool institutions.
"This amended regulation increases the basic coefficients for the calculation and payment of salaries of the respective groups of employees in education, starting from the calculation and payment of salaries for March 2025 in the amount of five percent, as well as from the calculation and payment of salaries for October 2025 , also in the amount of five percent", stated the Government of Serbia.
Thus, as it is pointed out, the agreement between the Government of Serbia and representative trade unions in education, which improves the material position and working conditions of employees, has been realized.
