One of the accused for the attack on students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts On November 22, 2024, Ivan Stanišić was given a suspended sentence of eight months for violent behavior at a public meeting, it was confirmed for N1 in the High Court in Belgrade.
After the defendant Stanišić concluded a plea agreement with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, the court sentenced him to eight months in prison, which will not be carried out if the defendant does not commit a new criminal offense during the probationary period within three years of the verdict becoming final.
The court also imposed a fine of 80.000 dinars on Ivan Stanišić, which he is obliged to pay within three months from the day the verdict becomes final.
With this verdict, the High Court in Belgrade fully accepted the Prosecution's proposal stated in the agreement concluded on May 6, 2025.
As the Prosecution announced at the time, Stanišić admitted that on November 22, 2024, in the period from 11:52 to 12:07 in the Boulevard of the Arts in New Belgrade, in the immediate vicinity of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts building, he committed violence at a public meeting.
"At a time when a public rally was being held on the road, dedicated to those who died in the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, he swung his fist clenched into a fist at the participants of the rally - injured RR and NT, to whom he sent several threats. He also addressed the injured UN with offensive terms, and tried to push his way through the living wall formed by the participants of that rally with their bodies," it is stated in announcement of the Prosecutor's Office.
