Hunger strike which began Diana Hrka best shows how in Serbia corruption and systemic crime kill people, and the institutions do not do their job. That is why the opposition should leave Assembly and next to the grieving mother, a "free parliament" is formed, according to political analyst Dragoljub Anđelković.
He reminds that there have already been attempts to form a "free parliament".
"Now the MPs should officially come out and form a platform with the people that would be called the 'Free Parliament of Serbia' and address all world factors - to the European Union, the United States, Russia and all the media with the request to end cooperation with the dictatorial regime. The right place to hold such a session of those deputies who are ready to fight for democracy would be right next to Dijana Hrka," Anđelković says.
He assesses that the goal of the Hrka hunger strike is for the system to start functioning for the benefit of the citizens, and not just to "defend the dictator".
He adds that they are in a "spin dictatorship" as it is Serbia citizens are forced to fight for their rights with extreme measures, including hunger strikes, but the government does not pay attention to that anymore.
He points out that the government's reaction to Diana Hrka's hunger strike shows that the president of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić "he fears the truth the most."
Vučić's followers identify with Hrko
Anđelković says that Vučić knows that he managed to "hypnotize" a part of the people so that they "accept his lies as a factual situation", while the other part of the people is protesting and looking for a normal system.
And he adds: "The part of the people that is with Vučić gives him a reason to claim that Serbia is divided and that the system of force that is with him seems to maintain balance and peace between two groups of citizens. In order for his lie to be maintained, Vučić needs to create curtains from the truth, and Mrs. Hrka with her extremely human act, which shows every mother what can happen to her child, destroys Vučić's mechanism of lies."
And those who are ready to accept Vučić's lie are only ready to do so as long as that lie is at someone else's expense.
"Ms. Hrka now makes many from Vučić's camp identify with her and realize that something similar can happen to their children, no matter how much they bury their heads in the sand. This fear of breaking the truth leads Vučić to act aggressively and create an atmosphere of civil war, so that in this polarization people stop thinking and stick to their camp, even though they slowly realize that that camp is on the side of injustice," Anđelković concludes.
"It's unbelievable that people are being released"
Prophet Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) Vladimir Pajić, speaking about Dijana Hrka's hunger strike, tells "Vreme" that it is very sad that a mother who lost her son has to seek justice with such a rigorous protest.
He says that on Sunday evening, together with almost all PSG officials, he was in front of the Serbian Parliament and that it is unbelievable to him that "mercenary team" who sits in front of the parliament "plays folk songs, disastrous music just one day after the day of mourning in order to drive Diana Hrka away and make her uncomfortable".
"They are shooting at her with pyrotechnics and bottles. That is the bottom level that we as a country have not touched until now, and on Sunday evening the people from Ćaciland, Vučić's supporters, really touched that bottom," says Pajić.
He states that PSG officials will constantly visit the improvised camp around Diana Hrka.
The opposition will stand by Diana Hrka
When it comes to the action of the opposition at the session of the Serbian Parliament scheduled for Tuesday, Pajić says that Dijana Hrka's strike will be an "absolutely unavoidable topic" at that session.
"After that dignified and sad meeting in Novi Sad, Mrs. Hrka's strike was a completely logical thing, because justice was unfortunately not served. That's why we will deal with that topic and stand up for people who expect justice, and we will do that in the institutions as well," says Pajić.
He also adds that the government has done a "very vile thing" and that along with the Law on the Voters' List, "they have drawn a law that legalizes the demolition of the General Staff" and that the opposition will make a decision on Monday on how to act on the issue.
ZLF: Diana Hrka can count on any kind of help
Green-Left Front (ZLF) MP Radomir Lazović tells "Vreme" that ZLF MPs were with Dijana Hrko and citizens in front of the Serbian Parliament on Sunday evening and on Monday.
He states that they offered all kinds of help to Diana Hrka, and that they offered her to come to the Assembly as their guest, if she wanted to.
Speaking about the session of the Serbian Parliament scheduled for Tuesday, Lazović says that he cannot specify how the opposition will act on it, but he points out that while the fight continues in the streets, the government in the Parliament is trying to push through harmful laws.
"That's why we are trying to send a message to the public about the harmfulness of those laws in every way," says Lazović.
