Serbian Politicians - regardless of whether they are in power, have been in power or want to win power - unitedly and unanimously condemned the kidnapping of the president of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro.
With assessments that it was an "act of brutal violation of international law" and a "symbolic end of the international order", Maduro's case was inevitably compared to the bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999.
Tadić: The principle of brute force
Former President of Serbia Boris Tadic he assessed that they the US military intervention in Venezuela and the overthrow of President Nicolás Maduro "kidnapping and an act of brutal violation of international law and the establishment of a principle that poses a threat to the security of the entire world."
"After this act, any major or regional power can carry out such an attack in the zone of its interests," Tadić wrote on the X social network.
He pointed out that this act, regardless of the assessment of the character of Maduro's regime, is "the most dangerous precedent that reintroduces the principle of bare force and the legitimization of the robbery of the national resources of independent states, members of the United Nations, into international relations."
"I say 'again', because in the past we have already witnessed such attacks on international law, including the bombing of Serbia in 1999 and the seizure of Kosovo," said Tadić.

Ljajić: Maduro to judge in Venezuela
The President of the Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS) Rasim Ljajić said that American the military attack on Venezuela and the arrest of its President Maduro represent "a dangerous precedent and a symbolic end to the international order as we have known it since the end of World War II."
"If until now there was a dilemma regarding the relationship between force and rights in international relations, this action definitely resolved it in favor of bare military power. Regardless of the authoritarian character of the regime in Venezuela, the fact that Nicolás Maduro remained in power through elections whose legitimacy was widely contested, as well as long-term suppression opposition, free media and basic human rights, a military attack on a sovereign state and the arrest of its president represent a gross violation of international law and an attack on the very foundations of the international system," Ljajić pointed out.
He assessed that Maduro "for all the wrongdoings he has done against his own citizens should be tried either in Venezuela or before some International Court", because everything else is "bare force and pure voluntarism".
Environmental uprising: Trump as mob boss
The Ecological Uprising movement estimated that the US overthrew Maduro with a military intervention because of the resources that country has, primarily OIL, and warned that natural and cultural assets in Serbia are "on target".
"However, Serbia has repeatedly shown that it will not stand by to be anyone's profit colony. That is why the defense of land, water and culture is the defense of bare survival," the statement of that movement states.
The ecological uprising believes that the explanation of the president of the USA Donald Trump after the bombing of Venezuela, it presents "the speech of a mafia boss who thought the planet was his backyard".
"Rocketing Caracas and kidnapping the legally elected president and his family is pure banditry with the aim of stealing other people's resources. The question arises as to who is next on the list for the robbery and kidnapping of the 'Merciful Angel' of Donald Trump," that movement assessed.
Gajić: Robbery of Venezuelan oil
The President of the People's Party, Vladimir Gajić, assessed that the American kidnapping of Maduro was an "unprecedented event" whose goal was "robbing Venezuelan oil."
Gajić said that with that American military action, "international law and the UN charter were completely violated."
"This is not the first time, but already the sixth, seventh time since the bombing of Serbia and Montenegro in 1999 that the American government applies such or a similar modus operandi," stated Gajić.
Vučić: In the world, the right of the stronger dominates, so Serbia will additionally arm itself
At the session of the National Security Council held on Sunday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said regarding the action in Venezuela that "the fact is that the old order in the world is collapsing, that no rules are valid anymore, that international public law does not exist, the order in the United Nations exists on paper".
"As a small country, it remains for us to advocate for it, but we have to understand well, and after the action in Venezuela it is completely clear, that public international law, order and the United Nations charter do not work at all," said Vučić.
He added that "we are particularly concerned about the further arming of Pristina".
"Contrary to the UN Charter and Resolution 1244, the arming of Pristina is underway. That resolution has been suspended de facto, although not de jure, by major Western powers and certain regional players such as Turkey. They are rapidly arming Pristina, and a special threat to the security, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia is the alliance or newly created alliance of Pristina, Tirana and Zagreb," said Vučić.
He said "we are already preparing for defense against those who no longer even covertly, but openly threaten our country".
He stated that "we will replenish our special units" and that "in a year and a half, the military capacities of Serbia will be doubled".
"We have to trust in ourselves. And if someone from the region goes against us, no one will help us, except ourselves. America will not attack us, we will not be attacked by I don't know what great powers. Those from the region did not do it as a toy, they worked on someone else's order. That is why it is up to us to be ready," he said.
