The suspect was previously known to the police and had already been convicted of murder, which further alarmed the local public.
"The 50-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody for an ongoing criminal investigation," announced the Sibenik-Knin Police Department.

The crime took place on Saturday around 23 pm on the terrace of the suspect's family home.
After the incident, the police launched an extensive search, and the entire city was under heightened security measures. All approaches to Drniš were temporarily closed, while citizens were urged to stay in their homes and not move unnecessarily.
Due to the tragic event and the security situation, Šibenik-Knin County has decided that there will be no classes on Monday in primary and secondary schools in Drniš, as well as that kindergartens will not be open.
The investigation into this serious crime is still ongoing, and the police are collecting all relevant information in order to determine the circumstances of the crime.
