Luka Pešić, a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, was released after the police detained him and took him to the Palace of Serbia. Students in the blockade announced on their Instagram profile that he was released.
Those gathered in front of the Palace of Serbia greeted him with applause.
Luka said that the reason for the detention was pasting stickers with the image of UKP head Marko Kričko, in Voždovac, during the protests this summer. "I don't know exactly which stickers it was and what was written on them, so I don't know if I pasted them," Luka stated, N1 reported.
In front of the entrance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, there are several dozen students and citizens who were waiting for Luka Pešić to come out after giving his statement.
Let's recall that earlier today, members of the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP) broke into the apartment of a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Luka Pešić and they searched him because, as he announced, probably considered a "serious criminal". As it was later stated on the page of the informal organization Zbor Bežanijska kosa, Luka Pešić was detained and the police took him to the SIV building.
Earlier today, Pešič announced on social media that members of the Criminal Police Directorate were searching his house.
According to him, the police asked him to appear in order to attend the search.
Student Luka Pešić, who is known to the general public for running away from the police on several occasions during protests, and at the same time recording those escapes and uploading them to social networks.
