In the past 24 hours, members of the Department for Emergency Situations were engaged in 194 emergency events, of which 168 fire and 26 other interventions, while the biggest fire was in the town of Zarce near Kraljevo, it announced Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
32 firefighters-rescuers with 12 vehicles from Kraljevo, Čačak, Novi Pazar, Kragujevac, Užice, Valjevo and Novi Sad were engaged in the town of Žarče.
On the spot, 40 members of Srbijašum with eight vehicles are helping to put out the fire, and the fire is surrounded on three sides and work is being done on its localization.
The helicopter unit of the MUP was also engaged with the Kamov K-32 helicopter, which released about 36 tons of water in nine bursts, while the "gazelle" helicopter was scouting from the air.
Firefighters are still engaged in extinguishing and localizing fires in Žagubica and Kučevo, while in Vidlič near Pirot they are working on extinguishing the remaining local hotspots.
On the territory of Užice, in the town of Banjska Stena, work is also being done to localize the fire, according to the announcement.
