We suspect organized criminal activities within the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government, which is responsible for keeping the voter list, said Bogdan Kolarski from the organization Progresivna Vojvodina.
The organization Progressive Vojvodina announced that, based on state data, they determined that in 2022 and 2023 Novi Sad there were more than 38.000 newly immigrated adult citizens, and that the necessary fees for that act were paid for only 7.000 persons.
Bogdan Kolarski from that organization stated that since January they have been engaged in election manipulation in Novi Sad, since until now the focus was only on Belgrade.
He explained that back in January, they sent a letter to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to the Law on Access to Information of Public Importance, with the question of how many changes of residence there were in the territory of the city of Novi Sad in 2022 and 2023.
"We received information that in 2022 and 2023, around 60.000 citizens changed their place of residence, moving to Novi Sad. When the number of minors is subtracted, according to our estimate, it is more than 38.000 people who moved to Novi Sad, which was very strange to us, because it is as much as 12 percent of the electorate of Novi Sad", stated Kolarski.
He explained that, in order to check that data, they asked the Ministry of Finance, the Treasury Administration, how many payments there were for the change of residence fee in that period, and they received a shocking figure - only 7.000. Therefore, 38.000 adults registered their residence, and only 7.000 paid the tax.
"It raises questions about who was doing the change of residence for people outside the law that says you have to pay the tax, how it was done, in what period and everything else." "We suspect organized criminal activities within the MUP and the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government, which is responsible for keeping the voter list," Kolarski pointed out.
